- Have one or two parents help out so you can enjoy the party without any stress, and be more present for your kiddos

Lilo & Stitch Themed Game Ideas
1. Ohana Rules!
This is a very fun game,s full of dancing and being included! The game is called Ohana Rules, and refers to the famous quote of the movie “Ohana means family, family means nobody gets left behind”
Its a perfect game to get kids mingling! Some Island music plays and kids dance around as if they are at a luau. Let then really enjoy and get into the dancing, it’s great fun! At some random moment, the caller shouts out “Ohana” and kids have to get into groups of a pre explained number (maybe 3,4 or 5) in a big cuddle!
The way we love to play this is that there are one of two parents mingling around who jump in to make sure every child get a group if there are uneven numbers. To add some fun competition, you can reward the fastest Ohana to assemble!
A variation of this game is that you call out a number and kids have to get into a group of that number. Any kids not in a group are sent out. This, admittedly is less “Ohana” but also a fun game for slightly older kids!
2. Island Adventure
In this game, the facilitator calls out the actions below, and children must follow the instructions for each one. The last ones to follow the actions are out, and the game continues!
- Surf time – Children pretend to balance on an imaginary surfboard
- Tropical breeze – Children sway their arms and bodies as if they’re being blown by the wind
- Climb the palm tree – Action pretending to climb with hands and feet
- Aliens coming! – Children run to one side of the room and pretend to shield from the bright light of an incoming space-ship
- To the ocean – Children run to the other side of the room, to ‘the ocean’
This is a fun, high-energy game, but you can always simplify it for younger children by using fewer actions or reward the fastest child instead of eliminating players.
Pro tip: If you don’t want to send kids ‘out,’ you can send them to “splash” into a giant imaginary pool of alien slime! The kids will love pretending to jump in, and the other kids will giggle at the playful splashing.
3. Lilo, Lilo, Stitch
This game is similar to duck duck goose but with a Lilo and Stitch theme. It’s perfect for when children are arriving or during downtime. New players can easily jump in, and the game is simple but fun and gets the kids involved in the theme from the start.
Children sit in a circle, facing inward. Child A walks around the outside of the circle, gently tapping the group one by one on the head, saying “Lilo, Lilo, Lilo…” then chooses one child (Child B) and says “Stich!” Child B jumps up and chases Child A around the circle. Child A must run around the whole group and sit back in Child B’s spot. If they manage, Child B becomes Child A for the next round. Otherwise, Child A has to try again!
Lilo & Stitch Themed Party Activity Ideas
1. Lilo and Stitch’s Scavenger Hunt!
The Aliens from the alien universe are coming to earth to collect 8 aliens that have landed here! They don’t know Stitch has escaped, but they will be hunting for the other aliens to take them back to space, and if they find stitch they will take him too!
The problem is, the aliens are very good at hiding! If we can find all the aliens and deliver them to the spaceship, the spaceship will leave as quickly as possible and stich doesn’t have to go with!
The kids have a mission: Find 8 Aliens and deliver them to the spacecraft as fast as possible!
To set this up, you will need to print out 8 Alien faces and stick them around the room! Then you can draw or print out a picture of a spacecraft which the aliens can be stuck to as they’re found. You could also draw these if you haven’t got a printer, or if you have any alien toys, you could use the toys and have then put into a shoebox spaceship! (there are loads of possibilities!)
For added fun you can dim the lights to pretend they’re searching through the night or give the kids flashlights for even more excitement. You can even print out a “Wanted” poster of the missing Aliens to make it feel super realistic!
2. Pin the nose on stitch!
For this Lilo & Stitch-themed version of “Pin the Tail on the Donkey,” have the kids try to pin stitch’s nose on a large photo of stitch! This is always a fun game, for a party!
Because lilo and stitch is so popular, you can buy this game online, or you can DIY it quite easily with a big piece of cardboard and some paints!
Each child has a blindfold put on and is spun around. They have to guess where Stitch’s nose would be and pin or blueback their little paper image of a nose there! You can mark each child’s attempt with a biro and their initials and the person who got closest to his actual nose wins a prize!
3. Lilo & Stitch Piñata
A piñata is a classic party game that can bring a burst of energy to any party! It’s a figure, filled with sweets, which is strung up somewhere from a height.
The idea is simple: the piñata is hung up, and kids in blindfolds take turns trying to break it open with a stick. Once the piñata cracks, all the goodies spill out for the kids to gather.
The best part about this is there are loads of inexpensive tropical themed pinatas available online to buy. You can also decorate the stick with green crepe paper or lei style flowers.
4. Island Craft Activity: Decorate Your Own Flower Crown!
A craft activity is a great idea for a party. It can be a lovely peaceful thing for the kids to get stuck into as they arrive one by one, or can make a great down-time activity to work on in the background while they have a snack or if some kids finish their snack early.
Cut small strips of paper that can be bent into a circle shape to sit around the child’s head. Then leave loads of colours, cloured paper, glitter and fake Lei style flowers on the table for them to stick into the headband, creating their own flower crown!.
Have an adult on hand to staple or sellotape the flat piece of paper into the circular shape that they can measure around the child’s head. The kids can then wear the costume for the rest of party and it’ll look so cute in pictures!
Lilo & Stitch Decoration Ideas
1. Big Bunches of Balloons in colour themes!
Balloons are so bold and affordable and they create so much energy in a space. they are particular useful because you can arrange them at different heights around the room, flooding the space with themed decoration.
Great colour combos for a lilo and stich balloon garlands:
- Blue, Red and a few White and pink
- Blue, Pink and Red
- Yellow, Red and light blue or purple
We also recommend eco friendly balloons, since they are disposable…but their disposability also makes for a very simple clean up!
2. Lilo and Stitch Photo Prop Background!
We love recommending clients go all out in decorations for one focal table or one corner and that make that the backdrop for birthday photos.
One focal area is absolutely enough for an evocative ad elaborate decorated feel while keeping the planning, set-up and clean up to a minimum. You can use a movie banner as a backdrop, or use a very affordable photo shoot backdrop of an island setting (these are inexpensive on amazon or other online retailers).
To bring the wonderful characters to life, it could be wonderful to get some life size cut outs (also inexpensive on amazon or online retailers) for kid’s to pose next to. You could also great photo-prop lilo and stitch characters, with face cutouts, sot hat kids can pose behind and get photos of their heads on lilo and stitch characters.
Making this a photo station also makes it interactive- and therefore much more impactful and memorable!
3. Island-Scape Food Tables
Set up food tables with tropical-themed tablecloths, plates, and cups. This will add a colorful, island-inspired atmosphere while being functional! It is inexpensive to buy sets online, and any interactive decoration strikes much more of an impact on the kids.
We love palm-leaf and flower-themed sets, but there are plenty of options to explore online—choose one that fits your party style!
4. Magical Background Music
Music is a key part of setting the scene!
Luckily the Lilo and stitch has fantastic tunes that will be so evocative for the kids. We suggest playing the iconic theme songs as the kids are arriving and perhaps during the games that involve music such as music statues etc.
As well as this, have some music on had as background music, to create island vibes and magical atmosphere. This is one of the biggest hacks for creating a themes atmosphere, and doesn’t cost a penny!
Ukulele instrumental would work especially great for this, or any tropical island style music playlists.
Food Ideas for a Lilo & Stitch Party
The best tip for food ideas is to keep it simple with things children love.
However, to really bring the island spirit to the snack table, here are some fun, creative ways to add that tropical flair:
2. Luau Cabin Tropical Mock-tails
Serve your child’s favorite juice in jugs with tropical-themed names to make them feel exciting and grown up! Some great lilo and stick themed mocktail names could be:
- Pineapple Paradise Punch
- Coconut Lime Splash
- Tiki Mango Twist
- Hibiscus Berry Blend
2.Island Tropical, Colourful Food Platters!
Use large tropical themed serving platters and spread out the maximum colourful foods in a way that makes the food table look like an island feast! If you opt to create individual food plates for younger kids (which can be a great idea), make sure the food is colourful and appealing.
To do this, serve loads of vibrant fruits and veggies, and if you are serving dips with these, try and bend, cream cheese, hummus or any other dip with brightly coloured vegetables to add more colour! carrots, beetroot and spinach work great for orange, pink and green colours, and you could use spices such as turmeric for warm, bright yellow shades.
For sweet treats, find treats with multi-coloured sprinkles, or make your own, for instance by dipping pretzels or frozen banana in white chocolate and then covering in sprinkles!
3. Lilo and Stitch ‘Island’ Themed Jelly
Jelly is a party favourite but is also so visually appealing on a food table so we love suggesting themes jelly’s for parties! This would be a perfect theme to make a layered sunset bowl (or little layered sunset pots).
For this you do 2 stages, start with a layer of a red flavour such as strawberry or raspberry, and once that is set later on top a lemon or lime flavoured bright yellow for a stunning gradient!
You could add as many layers as you like, even starting with purples, and adding orange between the yellow and the red. Our tip for this though, is to make the lighter colour layers slightly thicker so that colours have the chance to shine!
You can also top these with fresh fruits, like raspberries or kiwis for super aesthetic servings. What’s great is that these can be made one or even 2 days before and and relatively low effort for what looks incredible as a serving on the day!
4. Nani’s Popcorn Lucky Dip
Popcorn is always a hit at parties, and you can give it a tropical twist! Dye the popcorn in yellow’sand pinks with natural food colourings and sprinkle it with colorful candy or coconut shavings. Create a lucky dip by mixing in tropical jelly candies or fruity chocolate pieces for an extra surprise!
Good Luck!
I hope these ideas help bring your Lilo & Stitch party vision to life!
The key to a fantastic party is to keep things fun and simple—focus on creating the fun energy of the beloved characters and the adventure and excitement of space travel rather than spending too much time worrying about cutesy little details.
With the ideas we’ve shared in this post, we know you’ve got this! Be sure to take lots of photos to remember this super special day! Best of luck! Zoe x
